classic margarita

If you know anything about me, you know that I love margaritas (and tequila!) - they are my jam. Plain and simple. I don't, however, love when they are made with a bunch of sugar or the pre-made juices, but rather love making them myself nice and fresh! Give this one a try next time you need a cold one on the rocks:

Serving size: 2 margaritas

INGREDIENTS:

  • Ice

  • 2 ounces silver tequila

  • 1/2 ounce simple syrup (optional)

  • 1-2 fresh limes

  • 1-2 fresh lemons

  • club soda

  • chili-lime sea salt (got ours from Trader Joe's)

  • fresh lime wheel, for added garnish

DIRECTIONS:

  • If you prefer, dip the edges of your glass in water and then roll around in the sea salt, creating a salted rim. Fill the glass with ice and set aside.

  • Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add the tequila, simple syrup and fresh lime + lemon juice. Cover and shake well for 20-30 seconds. Add in the club soda and stir to mix well. Pour into salt-rimmed glass. Garnish with an additional lime wheel. Enjoy!

xoxo, Kell
