Wait.....so you're telling me that you can eat chocolate AND avocados at the same time?! Why yes, yes you can. I first came across this recipe a few years ago when I attended an event hosted by my childhood chiropractor, and naturally, I had to make sure it ended up on my blog! I added a few twists of my own, but either way, it's just as delicious any way you make it! This super easy dessert (I'm talking less than 10 minutes) is not only full of vitamins, minerals and healthy fats but it also tastes amazing! It is also fully refined sugar-free, gluten-free and dairy-free. Serve it the same day, or even keep it chilled in the freezer for a day or two later. Here's how to make it:
Prep Time: 5-7 minutes
Servings: 2-4 servings
Total Time: 10 minutes
INGREDIENTS
Flesh of two (2) ripe avocados
1/2 cup cocoa powder or chocolate chips (cocoa powder has a better consistency, in my opinion!)
1/4 cup almond or coconut milk
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract (optional)
pinch of salt
2-4 tablespoons maple syrup (just enough to sweeten it a little bit!)
DIRECTIONS
Peel avocados and place in a food processor.
Add cocoa powder and almond milk and then process all ingredients until evenly blended and a fair consistency.
Add in the salt, vanilla extract and maple syrup and continue to process until even. A few taste tests might be needed to make sure it's the proper sweetness! The more avocados you add, the less sweet it will taste.
Place in fridge for 10 minutes to chill.
Serve with coconut flakes, hemp seeds or chocolate chips on top! Store any extra in a small container in the fridge.
Super easy! Let me know what you think!
