ways to stay healthy during the coronavirus (or any sick season!)

This world is crazy right now! Since being home from our wedding + honeymoon, it's honestly just so surreal and I don't really know what to make of this whole pandemic! Confused? Saddened? It's a very weird time.

For now, I am just trying to stay positive and be thankful for the day-to-day things, and prioritizing my self-care and relaxation in the meantime. I'm making sure to get plenty of sleep per night, focusing on slowing down and just appreciating still being on this Earth and being able to interact with each one of you every day! That said, here are some tips to help you stay healthy during this time!

  • SLEEP! Try to aim for 7-9 hours minimum to give your body ample rest and time to reset. Sleep is extremely important for building immune support.

  • Take your supplements! I recommend investing in a daily probiotic (I love Truvani or Ora Organic) - they are both running discounts now as well!! I also recommend things like Omega-3 fish oil, Vitamin D, Vitamin C, Zinc, Turmeric, Ginger, fresh berries, etc. My Virtual Grocery Shopping Tour has a lot of options on what foods to avoid and what are best! *Remember, I am not a doctor so be sure to check with yours prior to changing or adding supplements to your diet to determine what YOU need!*

  • Wash your hands as often as you can! The more the merrier (hopefully that's obvious!).

  • Avoid things like processed sugars, processed grains, alcohol and deeply-fried foods as they are known for suppressing your immune system! I know they are easy and quick after a long day, but think long-term here. The things you do daily now will lead to healthier you in the future.

  • Eat as many greens/veggies as you can. Every meal, try to have at least one serving (if not more) of greens - spinach, bell peppers, cucumber, carrots, cauliflower, broccoli, brussel sprouts, etc. to keep your immune system up to par. Again, your day-to-day habits add up!

  • Do your best to keep your stress low and well-managed. Practice deep-breathing, meditation, read a book, take a walk, spend time with a loved one or family member - do anything you can to just relax your mind during this chaos.

  • Stay hydrated! Aim for at least half of your total bodyweight in ounces!

I hope that this was helpful and you are all safe and sound. Stay tuned for more tips and tricks coming soon! If you want to see specific content, feel free to send me an email or reach out on Instagram!

xoxo,

Kell
